How can I make a report?

Anyone who suspects that someone is mistreating an older or disabled person should call Southwestern Illinois Visiting Nurse Association’s Care Coordination Unit at (618) 236-5863, or the Illinois Department on Aging’s Senior Helpline at 1-866-800-1409.

“Abuse of the elderly and adults with disabilities is the least recognized form of family violence.”

Abuse takes many forms, and in most cases victims are subjected to more than one type of mistreatment.

  • Physical Abuse
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Confinement
  • Passive Neglect
  • Willful Deprivation
  • Financial Exploitation

Please don’t wait for someone else to make a report or assume the victim will report it. You just may save a life.
